A Close Look Into The North Face Vario 23 Tent
If you are looking to buy a 3 season 2 person tent you could do a lot worse than the North Face Vario 23 Tent. The Vario managed to win the award from backpacker magazine for best single wall tent in 2008 and is still a great tent. The reasons for this are simple the vario does what it it's supposed to do. When looking for a 3 season 2 person tent there are only a few things it must do, but it must do them very well to be a winner.
Firstly you will want the tent to be lightweight so that it doesn't weigh your back pack down on long hikes. With the maximum weight of the vario is 4bls 5oz's it won't over burden your back pack.
Secondly you wont want to wake up in a puddle, so the tent you choose will want to be fully waterproof. With a fully seam sealed tent canopy and taped seams on the base of the tent the vario should keep you warm and dry.
Last but not least you will want a tent that can be put up quickly so you can escape a storm or so you get more time to relax. The Vario 23 tent also does well on this front the microclips enable the tent to be pitched quickly by clipping the tent to the poles rather than the fiddly job of threading them through e normal pole tunnels.
The features packed into the vario don't just stop at these, im sure you will be glad to hear. For instance the amount of pockets inside the tent make storage easy. As do the size of the vestibules at fractionally over 6 square feet. North Face’s high low ventilation system helps to keep condensation away by getting fresh air flowing around the tent.
Another great feature is the upper level lift vent created using the brow pole, this allows the tent to work with the wind rather than against it, letting you have a comfortable night’s sleep without feeling as if you are going to be blown off the mountain.

I think that all of the above makes the tent stand out amongst the other 3 season 2 person tents. The North Face Vario gives you much more than you need from a 3 season tent.
I am sure the North Face Vario 23 would make a very loyal companion on camping trips whether be in spring, summer or fall.
