Learning the play the guitar is really fun. I do remember the days when my fingers hurt playing guitar when I first started playing the instrument Will your fingers get sore too? That seems to happen to most people.
Once you get over the sore fingers there are some great advantages with playing the guitar. For example, you can take it anywhere. I just happen to love camping and backpacking. I ended up keeping an old battered up guitar for these trips. No need to worry about the guitar falling onto rocks… which did happen.
It's fun to have your instrument with you to use and share. It's especially nice to sing songs around a campfire and let others share their songs too... with your guitar.
There are also little traveling guitars that can fit on the overhead compartment in planes. I bought one of these and have taken it on trips to Europe and also around the US. Taking a full size guitar can be a real hassle because they often want you to pay the full ticket price for a seat for your instrument.
I wouldn't trust my guitar in baggage because they are handled so roughly. It’s not a good idea to check your guitar into baggage. I have heard of expensive instruments getting ruined that way. Little traveling guitars are a great alternative because there is no need to check them in... you can simple carry them onto the plane.
The one I use is called a Backpacker, but I have also seen a number of other ones for sale. Why not have a good guitar, a beach guitar and a tiny travel guitar.With three guitars, you will ready for any occasion.
