Mayan History Influences Lifestyle In Tulum
Tulum is a quaint beach town in Mexico that provides considerable wildlife, ruins from the Mayan era, and is also thought to be a rising hotspot for stars. The casual way of life of such beach towns is the reason why lots of Americans are mapping out how to retire to mexico. Located merely eighty miles south of Cancun, a leading traveler spot with high rise condos and resorts, Tulum is the opposite of cutting-edge traveler places. In contrast to Cancun, Tulum is filled with natural reserves, fabulous beaches and also rich culture handed down from the Mayans. Tulum is really a backpacker's fantasy as the crystal blue seas attract vacationers from all around the world.
Close encounters with turtles
More recently, there was a helpful DailyMail.co.uk report written by Travel Editor Sarah Gordon. She narrated her amazing experiences in Tulum. While holidaying in Tulum, Sarah became aware that a big turtle was moving towards the beach to lay eggs right outside her hotel. A significant group slowly collected to witness the ancient creature dig holes in the sand and lay over 100 eggs. As the mother-to-be slipped back into the water, it made many realize that nature was right outside the door in Tulum!
Tulum as an eco friendly destination
The key reason why many people opt for Tulum as a holiday spot is because developers have not yet altered the topography of this sleepy and historic beach town into a blossoming tourist spot. Boutique hotels along with beach cabanas line up the coasts of Tulum. Most of these beaches follow environmentally friendly tactics that make Tulum an incredibly popular vacation spot for nature lovers as well. Celebrities like Drew Barrymore, Sienna Miller, Amanda Seyfried and Natalie Imbruglia are often discovered relaxing in this low key location. Tulum is also where you can find truly delicious Italian cuisine in addition to local Mexican cuisine. Tulum is known to be a less expensive option to several other widely used travel destinations.
Mayan history and influences
Area Mayans manage the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve that is devoted to safe guarding the assorted flora and fauna of the locale. Many local guides in the region are Mayans by origin and describe the Mayan influences found in the traditions and architecture of the peninsula. The Riviera Maya is also brimming with Mayan ruins that fascinate many travelers annually. The cliff top ruins in Tulum include ancient pyramids towering over the dense jungles.
Amusement parks promising great family activities such as snorkeling, nature trails along with swimming with dolphins also combine Mayan legends and myths to observe the resilience of the civilization. Just about the most discussed Mayan myth is the approaching Armageddon in 2012. After the myth became popular around the world, tourism authorities of the Yucatan Peninsula established giant billboards to get the attention of travelers. This myth has not been considered seriously by the authorities and is merely a publicity effort to boost awareness with regards to the Mayan culture. But it's much welcome since getaways like Tulum offer a whole lot to the tourist crowd!
