Austria Travel Tips
One of the most visited countries in Europe is the country of Austria, and it is no wonder to see why. Apart from its breathtaking landscapes and sceneries, travelers visiting the country of Austria are treated to an endless array of brilliantly designed buildings and palaces. It is also the home of the waltz and the famous child prodigy and classical music master Mozart. Indeed, the country of Austria is a jewel that every person must travel to at least once in their entire life.
Austria is also known for its rich cultural heritage. This could be seen on the pride that the locals have for its brilliant palaces and buildings, their love for the Waltz and their homage to the classical composer and child prodigy Mozart. Climate
Because of its location, Austria generally experiences a humid continental climate. Rainfall can be rather sparse as compared to its neighboring countries so you do not have to worry about any rain dampening your itinerary. While this may be the case, make sure that you pack in the right kind of clothing depending on when you will be heading out to travel to Austria. Since it is surrounded by the majestic Alps, it is a good idea to pack in some really thick clothing especially if you are heading out here for the first time and your trip happens to fall during the autumn season and especially during the winter months. If you are planning to visit the country during the spring and summer months, it will be quite the opposite. Austria is known for its very warm summers with temperatures reaching up to 35 degrees Celsius. This is the perfect time to travel to the country if you are planning to tour the country as a backpacker.
Getting Around
If you are traveling with your family and would like to rent a car for added convenience, you can do this well in advance. Most of the popular car rental companies have branches here in Austria. Just make sure that you have first acquired an International Driver's Passport with a German translation before you arrive to the country since not all driver's license issued in other parts of the world are honored here.
There are also a number of different public transportations that you can hop on to get from one city to another in Austria. If you are traveling on a budget, it is a good idea to get a hold of weekly passes since it costs comparatively lesser than buying a ticket each time you want to travel from Point A to Point B.
There are a number of different places to stay in Austria, depending on your budget. Hotel accommodations are numerous throughout the country, but they could be quite expensive if you book it directly with them. The average cost of a hotel accommodation with breakfast is between 50 pound and 60 pound per night. You can try going to your local travel agent who may be able to provide you with a reservation at a hotel of your choice at a discounted rate.
Try also making the reservations over the Internet since there are some discounted rates that are only applicable to online bookings. If you are traveling alone or with your friends and the discounted rates are still a bit steep, there are a number of different hostels that you can choose which charge only a fraction of hotel room rates.
For travelers on a tight budget, there are a number of different hostels where you can stay at a fraction of the price. Making your reservations on online travel agencies instead of going directly to the hotel can also lower down your costs since you can be able to avail of some discount offers and packages through these online travel agencies. Just make sure to double check with the hotel directly prior to your arrival in Austria if they already have the bookings that you have made.
