Penang Beach - Why is Batu Ferringhi the most popular beach!
A tour up to Batu Ferringhi will tell you why you have to go there for a holiday. The journey up here is a windy trip, but the outcome are stunning. A block of premium hotels front the ocean and opposite the road is a skyline of bars, restaurants and souvenir stalls anticipating to be seen.
If you have money to splurge, invest in a few nights at the Rasa Sayang, Park Royal, Holiday Inn, Bayview Beach Resort, or the Golden Sands. They not only overlook the ocean, they are located entirely on the beach and have the finest quality available here. The staff are well trained and polite, and the hotels provide excellent services, and some even provide daycare, childcare and baby-sitting services.
For those who are on a fixed budget, hotels opposite the road are accessible for a pleasant trip too, and you can stroll across to the seaside for beach entertainment. Try not to get a hotel which is too far away from the beach, so its best to stick to those that line the roadsides as it's easy to cross the roads here.
Eating choices are abundant as you can be pleased in tasty seafood at the restaurants opposite the road. There is a hawker center which we stopped at for dinner which had good hawker food. The centre is near the night market which you should check out. It's a shopping haven for many. I didn't purchase many items as I was mainly exploring.
Batu Ferringhi is absolutely a tourist area, everything they possess there is convenient for backpackers and it's simple to walk everywhere the area. Only problem is getting to and from Georgetown, not that there isn't any transport, its just a little bit further out and the coming in and out of Batu Ferringhi.
There are Tanjung Bungah and Gurney Drive to think of. But majority of tourist will say Batu Ferringhi is the most popular Penang beach.
