A Closer Look At The North Face Vario 23
If you are looking to buy a 3 season 2 person tent you could do a lot worse than the North Face Vario 23 Tent. This critically acclaimed tent won the 2008 top single wall tent award from backpacker magazine and continues to be a strong contender today. The reasons for this are simple the vario does what it it's supposed to do. When spending your hard earnt money on a 3 season 2 person tent to avoid it being a waste of money you will want the tent to cover three main bases well.
Firstly you will want the tent to be lightweight so that it doesn't weigh your back pack down on long hikes. At a maximum weight of 4 pounds 5 ounces the Vario does this very nicely.
Second you will want to be sure that the tent is fully waterproof and isn't going to let you down in a heavy downpour. With a fully seam sealed tent canopy and taped seams on the base of the tent the vario should keep you warm and dry.
Last but not least you will want a tent that can be put up quickly so you can escape a storm or so you get more time to relax. The Vario 23 tent also does well on this front the microclips enable the tent to be pitched quickly by clipping the tent to the poles rather than the fiddly job of threading them through e normal pole tunnels.
The good points of the vario 23 don't stop here either. Storage inside the tent is aided by several internal pockets. Also the vestibules add handy storage space at just over 6 feet square each. North Face’s high low ventilation system helps to keep condensation away by getting fresh air flowing around the tent.
Something else that is a handy attribute and somewhat unique is the lift vent, rather than most tents that on a windy mountain that feel as if they are going to get blown off in the night the lift vent on the vario works with the wind to provide a much more comfortable camp.
Another piont you will be glad to hear is North Face give you a lifetime warranty with the vario 23!
I'm sure you will agree that the vario 23 stands above the other tents in this catagory when you consider all of the features mentioned here. This tent covers all the bases you want for a tent like this and then gives you more for good measure.
I am sure the North Face Vario 23 would make a very loyal companion on camping trips whether be in spring, summer or fall.
