A Look Inside The North Face Vario 23 Tent
If you are looking to buy a 3 season 2 person tent you could do a lot worse than the North Face Vario 23 Tent. The Vario managed to win the award from backpacker magazine for best single wall tent in 2008 and is still a great tent. The reasons for the varios success are simple, it does what it is meant to do and does it very well. If you are looking for a tent in this class you will want it to do a few things and do them well.
Firstly you will want the tent to be lightweight so that it doesn't weigh your back pack down on long hikes. With the maximum weight of the vario is 4bls 5oz's it won't over burden your back pack.
Second you will want to be sure that the tent is fully waterproof and isn't going to let you down in a heavy downpour. the Vario also ticks his box as well it has fully seam sealed canopy as well as taped seams on the fully waterproof ultralight base.
The final point a tent like this has to be good at is the time to pitch so you can escape that on-coming storm. The Vario 23 tent also does well on this front the microclips enable the tent to be pitched quickly by clipping the tent to the poles rather than the fiddly job of threading them through e normal pole tunnels.
The good points of the vario 23 don't stop here either. Storage inside the tent is aided by several internal pockets. Also the vestibules add handy storage space at just over 6 feet square each. The high/low vents will help to keep condensation from building up throughout the night and keep the fresh ari flowing.
Something else that is a handy attribute and somewhat unique is the lift vent, rather than most tents that on a windy mountain that feel as if they are going to get blown off in the night the lift vent on the vario works with the wind to provide a much more comfortable camp.

I think that all of the above makes the tent stand out amongst the other 3 season 2 person tents. This tent covers all the bases you want for a tent like this and then gives you more for good measure.
I am sure the North Face Vario 23 would make a very loyal companion on camping trips whether be in spring, summer or fall.
